Organisation Spotlight — Product Requirements

Overview

The Organisation Spotlight is a feature that showcases 2-3 MCB member organisations per month. The goal is to increase visibility, cross-organisational awareness, and community engagement across MCB's 500+ member network.

This feature supports Action 3 (Spotlight Lottery of Information Sharing) under the Community Empowerment & Education workstream.


Problem Statement

MCB's 500+ member organisations operate largely in silos. Most communities are only aware of a handful of well-known organisations. There is no regular mechanism for surfacing the breadth and diversity of the network, or for organisations to share what they do with each other's audiences.


Goals

  • Increase visibility of MCB member organisations across the network
  • Provide a regular, structured way for organisations to share their mission, services, and impact
  • Drive traffic to the org-finder and individual organisation profiles
  • Support cross-organisational collaboration and resource sharing
  • Create shareable content for social media channels

Feature Summary

Spotlight Page

A dedicated page that displays the currently spotlighted organisations (2-3 per month):

  • Featured organisation cards with expanded profiles
  • Archive/history of previous spotlights
  • Clear CTA to visit the organisation's full profile

Spotlight Submission Form

A tokenised form sent to selected organisations each month to collect their spotlight content. This is not a public self-nomination form — organisations are selected and sent the form link.

Selection Criteria

Organisations are selected based on the Mizan criteria. Selection is curated, not random.


Spotlight Profile Display

Each spotlighted organisation is presented as a rich profile card:

  • Logo and organisation name
  • Quote from the lead
  • Mission / description
  • Key services (bullet list)
  • Target audience (tags)
  • Image gallery / carousel
  • Website, social links, and contact
  • Link to full profile on org-finder

User Flows

Admin Flow

  1. Select 2-3 organisations for the month based on Mizan criteria
  2. Send each organisation a unique spotlight form link
  3. Organisation completes and submits the form
  4. Review submission and approve/request changes
  5. Approved spotlights go live

Organisation Flow

  1. Receive spotlight invitation via email
  2. Click unique form link
  3. Fill in profile fields and upload images
  4. Submit form and receive confirmation
  5. Featured on spotlight page for the month

Public Visitor Flow

  1. Visit the spotlight page
  2. See current month's spotlighted organisations
  3. Browse archive of past spotlights
  4. Click through to full organisation profile or website
